If you only have a short time to spend in Vietnam, this tour is ideal; the itinerary will appeal to first-time and seasoned visitors alike. Discover a myriad of Unesco World Heritage Sites: Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, and the life-sustaining wonder of nature that is the Mekong River.
Day 1 : Arrival in Hanoi ( D)
You will be met at the airport. Afternoon cyclo tour of the Old Quarter. Evening meal at a restaurant.
Day 2 : Hanoi / Halong Bay / Hanoi (B, L, D)
Morning departure towards Halong Bay. Board the junk for an unforgetable journey across the emerald bay. Enjoy a seafood lunch. Back to Hanoi late afternoon. Dinner at a restaurant.
Day 3: Hanoi / Hue (B,L)
Discover the capital city of Vietnam. We visit the Hoam Kiem lake, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Tran Quoc and Quanh Thanh Pagodas and the Temple of Literature. In the afternoon, we visit the Museum of Ethnology. The day ends with a transfer to the airport and flight to Hue.
Day 4 : Hue / Hoi An (B,L)
Morning trip by sampan on the Perfume River, visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, the mausoleum of Minh Manh, followed by a tour of the Imperial City of the Nguyen dynasty, its royal palaces and imperial temples. We visit the Cham Museum in Danang before reaching Hoi An in the evening.
Day 5: Hoi An / Danang / Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Bike or cyclo ride through the narrow streets to the harbour. Sail into the harbour to watch the fishermen reel in their catch. Transfer to Danang for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Dinner at a restaurant and overnight in a hotel.
Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City / Mytho / HCMC ( B,L,D)
Morning departure for Mytho and the fascinating Mekong Delta (80km); visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda and take then cruise along the river to the island of Thoi Son, famous for its orchards. You will have a chance to taste the local produce. Back to HCMC in the afternoon. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 7 : Departure from Ho Chi Minh City (B)
A morning tour of the main sights with a colonial flavour : the cathedral, the post office and Catinat St. China town (Cho Lon) is more than a colourful distraction. Visit the Pagoda of Thien Hau and Binh Tay market. Free time to stroll around until the transfer to the airport.
