Visit North Vietnam and Halong Bay ; the Central Highlands, Imperial Hue, and tranquil Hoi An ; experience the bustle of Ho Chi Minh City and the legendary Mekong Delta. The flavours, smells, colours and memories of this trip will leave you with an urge to return.

Day 1 : Arrival in Hanoi

You will be met at the airport. Afternoon cyclo tour of the Old Quarter. Evening meal at a restaurant. (Dinner)

Day 2 : Hanoi / Halong Bay

Morning departure towards Halong Bay. Board the junk for an unforgetable journey across the emerald bay. Seafood dinner and overnight on the junk. (B’fast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3: Halong Bay / Hanoi

Enjoy a morning cruise across the stunning bay. Back to Hanoi in the afternoon, including a stop at the potters’ village of Dong Trieu. (B’fast, Lunch)

Day 4 : Hanoi / Hue

Discover the capital city of Vietnam. We visit the Hoam Kiem lake, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Tran Quoc and Quanh Thanh Pagodas and the Temple of Literature. In the afternoon, we visit the Museum of Ethnology. The day ends with a transfer to the airport and flight to Hue. (B’fast, Lunch)

Day 5 : Hue visit

Morning trip by sampan on the Perfume River, visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, the mausoleum of Minh Manh and that of the Emperor Tu Duc. Lunch is followed by a cyclo tour of the Imperial City of the Nguyen dynasty, its royal palaces and imperial temples. (B’fast, Lunch)

Day 6: Hue / Danang / Hoi An

Morning departure for Danang, stopping at the Pass in the Clouds to admire the breathtaking view of the Lang Co peninsula. Visit the Cham museum in Danang before heading to Hoi An. Afternoon tour of this charming city, which boasts charming, classic Vietnamese architecture, a market place and small fishing harbour. Stroll through the streets and visit a silk-weaving workshop and lantern maker. (B’fast, Lunch)

Day 7 : Hoi An / Danang / Ho Chi Minh City

Bike or cyclo ride through the narrow streets to the harbour. Sail into the harbour to watch the fishermen reeling in their catch. Transfer to Danang for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Diner at a restaurant and overnight in a hotel. (B’fast)

Day 8 : Ho Chi Minh City / Cu Chi / Can Tho

Transfer to Cu Chi, the complex underground tunnel network by the Vietnamese in their war with America. Follow on to Can Tho. (B’fast, Lunch)

Day 9 : Can Tho / Ho Chi Minh

We must rise early to see the extraordinary floating market of Ca Rang or Phong Dien. Then we head to rich orchards and the chance to taste some of the local produce. After lunch, we head back to HCMC. (B’fast, Lunch)

Day 10 : Departure from Ho Chi Minh City

A morning tour of the main sights with a colonial flavour : the cathedral, the post office and Catinat St. China town (Cho Lon) is more than a colourful distraction. Visit the Pagoda of Thien Hau and Binh Tay market. Free time to stroll around until the transfer to the airport. (B’fast)
