Bac Ha

The mountain province of Bac Ha is famous for its Sunday market. As the ethnic minorities gather - including members of the H’mong and Dao - the narrow corridors between the stalls are awash with colour and folk song. The traditional costumes worn to market by the different tribes will win over the most blasé of visitors. Smaller markets in the villages of Ban Pho province offer visitors the chance for a closer look at everyday life and the customs of the villagers.
